Elsie Mae (Hummel) Williams, 81, died late Thursday evening, May 16th, 2024 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomsburg, where she had been a resident since this past August.
Born April 5, 1943 at the Berwick Hospital, she was a daughter of the late David Henry Hummel and Odessa Marie (Wood) Hummel.
She was a 1961 graduate of Berwick High School. Elsie had been employed by Deluxe Homes, of Berwick; Milco Industries in Berwick and Bloomsburg and had last worked at Wal-Mart.
Elsie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Berwick. She was an avid bowler and had bowled in a league at the former Stenko Lanes in Berwick.
She was an avid walker and enjoyed walking the avenues of Berwick. Elsie also very much enjoyed keeping in touch with her high school classmates over the years.
Surviving are her son, Shawn M. Williams and his wife, Rebecca, of Bloomsburg; four grandchildren: Jacob Williams and his wife, Lauren, of Linwood, New Jersey; and James, Aaron and Rachel Williams, of Bloomsburg.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel J. Hummel on May 2, 2022.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Elan Memorial Park with Pastor Eric Miller, Bloomsburg Christian Church, officiating. The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton, is honored to serve the Williams Family.
