Ethel A. (Fausey) Horne, 96, formerly of Benton, died Monday afternoon, May 6, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 16, 1927 in Derrs, Jackson Township, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (Hartman) Fausey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Horne, on October 8, 2000.
Mrs. Horne attended a one room school house in Jackson Township and then in Green Creek. She then went to Benton High School, where she graduated in 1945.
She had been employed as a seamstress by the former Benton Dress Factory and then Dol Ang Manufacturing in Benton for 33 years until her retirement.
Following her retirement, she had done babysitting for area families for many years.
Mrs. Horne was a longtime member of Stillwater Christian Church.
Surviving are her two children: Larry G. Horne, of Riverside and Randy L. Horne and his wife, Linda, of Orangeville. Also surviving are two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Walter. She was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Wayne M. Fausey on July 21, 2016; Carroll L. Fausey on April 24, 2021 and Clayton and Laura Fausey, who died in childhood.
Graveside Services will be held at the Rohrsburg Cemetery on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2 PM with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA 17878 or to the Rohrsburg Cemetery Association.
