Florence M. (Whitmire) Davis

Florence M. (Whitmire) Davis, 76, of Benton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.

Born January 1, 1947 in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Harold Whitmire, Sr. and Gladys L. (McAfee) Whitmire Hughes.  

Florence attended Northwest High School and in her younger years worked for the Lady Ester Corporation and Consolidated Cigar Corporation, both of Berwick.  

She was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her two children:  a daughter, Renee L. Kubasek and her husband, Joseph; a son, Douglas C. Davis and his wife, Jennilou, all of Benton; five grandchildren:  Gabrielle Gombert, Amber and Andrew Kurilla, Sarah and Thomas Kubasek; five great grandchildren:  Jullian, Kaylee, Destiny, Logan and Layla.  Also surviving are a step daughter, Leatha Kurilla and her husband, Joseph;  and a step son, Harry W. Davis; two brothers and two sisters:  Harold Whitmire, Jr. and his wife, Shirley; Carl Whitmire and his wife, Rita;  Emily Balonis and Madelyn Whitenight.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route  487) with Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating.  Friends and Relatives will be received Tuesday, the 13th of June from 10 AM until the time of the Service at McMichael's.  Burial will be in the Waller Cemetery, Jackson Township.
