Genevieve Leora "Ginger" (Rhone) Kitchen

Genevieve Leora "Ginger" (Rhone) Kitchen, 85, of Benton Township, passed away as a patient at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, on Monday, April 27th, 2020.

Born August 19, 1934 at Savage Hill, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Clyde Rhone and Stella Blanche (Shultz) Rhone.    She married Kenneth J. Kitchen in 1950 and had 44 years together before his death on April 24, 1994.

She worked at Dockey's Shirt Factory and then for Milco Industries in Benton and Bloomsburg for more than 30 years.

Ginger was an active member of the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church.  She sang in the choir and helped with the festivals and also helped at the Raven Creek Hall for several years.

She enjoyed the time that she spent with her family.

Surviving are her two sons:  Kenneth John Kitchen (Shirley) and Timothy Kitchen (Joan), both of Benton; three grandchildren:  Jessica Lewis (Kenneth); Brandon Kitchen, (fiancée, Melissa Bitten) and Stacy Deibert;  six great grandchildren:  Wilmar, Stover, and Ryker Lewis; Regan and Elise Deibert and Novalee Mahoney.

She is also survived by a sister, Flora Rutledge (Bruce), of Coatesville and a sister-in-law, Ellen (George) Kitchen of Millville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband  and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters:  Doris Conner and her husband, Ben; Edna Rhone, Helen Avery and her husband, William; a brother, Harold Rhone and his wife, Florence; a brother-in-law, George Kitchen and by a niece, Barbara Smith Remley.

Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 15th, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 P. M. at the Raven Creek Hall, 999 Upper Raven Creek Road, Benton.  Family and Friends are invited to attend to remember Ginger.  There will be a brief service at 3:00 PM at the Hall with Ken Lewis, officiating.  Burial was made previously in the Raven Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, 993 Upper Raven Creek Road, Benton, PA 17814.
