Georganne Lane, 91, a resident of Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater, and formerly of Town Hill, died November 24,2021.
She was born Georganne Stookey in Kingston, on June 1,1930 to George and Eda Stookey. In 1947, she graduated from Huntington Mills High School. She married Joseph Lane; they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary prior to his death November 26, 2012.
She loved being a teacher, gardening, sewing, quilting and other crafts, reading, and traveling near and far. One of her favorite experiences was working for 2 years as a missionary in Africa.
She attended Calvary Bible Chapel in Muhlenberg; until illness17 months ago, studying her Bible every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe; daughter, Cathy Jo; brothers, Gridley and Francis Stookey, and beloved sister, Eda Mott.
Surviving is sister Jean Collins (Rip), son Jeffrey Lane (Laura), daughter, Judy Lane (Sheldon Goldberg), 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Harvey (Kevin), Benjamin, Steve(Jennifer); 3 great grandchildren: Brooke and Kelly Harvey and Mason Lane, and many nieces and nephews.
Georganne graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1970 to realize her dream of becoming a teacher, one of her greatest achievements. She worked in the Shickshinny and Huntington Mills school systems.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring at Calvary Bible Chapel in Muhlenberg, with her pastor, Neil Martin, officiating.
