George Coombs Abercrombie, Jr., 87, of Sugarloaf Township, died Thursday afternoon, November 2, 2023 at his home.
Born January 8, 1936 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late George Coombs Abercrombie and Emma (Sibel) Abercrombie. He and his wife, Georgia C. (Conner) Abercrombie, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 27th.
George was a graduate of Neshaminy High School in Langhorne. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Navy where he was a flight mechanic.
He was a talented mechanic and owned his own service station, known as, Ab-Go in Levittown for many years.
George was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time out in the woods.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Georgia, are six children: Kathy Clark and her husband, Ralph, Levittown; Terri Abercrombie and her significant other, John Furlong, of Southampton; Lori Gagliardi and her husband, Frank, of Pine Island, Florida; George Coombs Abercrombie, III and his wife, Kate, of Harleysville; Christi Maialetti and her husband, Chris, of Philadelphia; Richard John Abercrombie and his wife, Erika, of Chattanooga, TN; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kathryn Broe.
Services and Military Honors will be conducted Friday, November 10th, 2023 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Tyler Rauhauser, Waller United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be a visitation on Friday from 1 PM until time of the Service at 2 at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Commonwealth Home Health and Hospice, 1409 N. Market Street, Berwick, PA 18603.
