Gerald W. "Jerk" Houseweart, 79, of Dotyville, Benton Township, died Monday, August 29, 2022 at his home.
Born March 7, 1943 in Central, Sugarloaf Township, he was a son of the late Raymond Arthur Houseweart, who died in July 6, 1958 and Glenda O. (Comstock) Houseweart Furtak, who died March 21, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia M. "Pat" (McHenry) Houseweart, on May 16, 2017.
He was a 1961 graduate of Benton High School and then entered the U. S. Army where he served from 1961 to 1964.
Jerk was self employed and owned and operated G. W. Houseweart Excavating. He was also a longtime Benton Township Supervisor.
He was a member of the American Legion and the V. F. W.
Surviving, are his two sons: Gerald W. "Jerry" Houseweart, II and Thomas W. Houseweart, both of Benton; two grandchildren: Jonathan Hunter Houseweart and Nikki Rose Houseweart; two great granddaughters: Octavia and Lyric. Also surviving are his siblings: Bonnie S. Young, of Benton; Linda Steele, of Berwick; Barry "Duke" Houseweart and his wife, Jill, of Benton; Mary Ann Young and her husband, Michael, of Orangeville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
