Gerald J. "Jerry" Hunsinger, 84, of Levittown and formerly of Jonestown, died Thursday afternoon, December 2, 2021 at his Levittown home.
Born June 17, 1937 in Hunlock Creek, he was a son of the late Rev. Amandus R. "Pat" Hunsinger, who died March 3, 2005 and Dorothy C. (Evarts) Hunsinger, who died April 26, 1998. He and his wife, Jeannie L. (Whitenight) Hunsinger, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming March 10th.
Jerry attended Sunbury High School and faithfully served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was last employed as a warehouse manager for Business Machine Supplies (BMS) in Trenton, New Jersey. He retired in 1988.
He was a member of the Jonestown United Methodist Church and also attended the Fallsington United Methodist Church. He was a member of Fairless Hills Masonic Lodge, No. 776 and Oriental Lodge, No. 460, F. & A. M., Orangeville.
An avid camper, he was a member of the National Camping Travelers Club. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling and spending the winters in Florida.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Jeannie, are his three daughters: Denise Larsen, of Milton; Denene Kinney, of Pasadena, MD; Danette Ziegelhofer (Rick Krause), of Levittown; four grandchildren: Bob Kinney (Sara), Amanda Kinney, Douglas Wilson (Brook Karnes) and Alex Wilson. Also surviving are his six great grandchildren: Cheyenne, Leah, Alex, Shane, Mason and Abigail. Honorary daughters Jean Macino and Dianna (Grace) Kroker.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Rev. Joseph Martin, Fallsington United Methodist Church, officiating. Masonic Services will be held Wednesday morning prior to the Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Jonestown Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the services at McMichael's.
