Gloria Ann Appleman, 76, of Fowlersville, passed away peacefully at the Gardens at Orangeville, following a brief illness, on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
She was born March 18, 1944 in Myrtle Beach, SC and grew up in Rohrsburg. A 1962 graduate of Millville High School, she completed X-Ray Tech education.
Gloria worked as an X-Ray tech locally and in Florida. After spending many years in Florida, she returned to the area early in the 1990's.
She worked at RR Donnelly and Sons / Haddon Craftsman, and also as a home caregiver. After retirement she was a vendor at the Hometown Market in Tamaqua, specializing in movies and Vera Bradley bags and accessories.
Gloria lived life to its fullest. She rode dirt bikes while in Florida. She attended the original "Woodstock" festival in 1969. She enjoyed shopping, reading, movies and time spent with her friends. She will be missed by her "other family": the Arnold and Jolene Stackhouse family from the Rohrsburg area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Anna Drabot Appleman on January 14, 1974 and Theodore "Ted" Appleman on July 10, 2000; a half sister, Lynette E. Appleman on May 20, 2018 as well as her beloved cat, "Rocky".
Surviving are her stepmother, Susan Appleman, of Bloomsburg and a nephew, Caleb Higgins, of Millville.
Her favorite quote was the "Serenity Prayer".
Graveside services will be held at the Rohrsburg Cemetery with Pastor Gail Kitchen, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Rohrsburg United Methodist Church, 706 Zaners Rohrsburg Road, Orangeville, PA 17859.
