Helen Faye (Shultz) Hilkert, 90, of Benton, died late Wednesday evening, January 22, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 18, 1929 in Madison Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Adda V. (Deihl) Shultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Hilkert, on November 25, 2007.
Mrs. Hilkert was a graduate of Millville High School and had been employed by Milco Industries in Bloomsburg in her younger years. Later, she and her husband owned and operated the family farm in Washingtonville.
She was a member of the Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Hilkert enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her cooking, baking and gardening.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon R. Travelpiece and her husband, Jody, of Benton; three grandchildren: Robert Richendrfer and his wife, Sarah, of Benton; Shannon Bonham and her husband, Kenny, of Stillwater; William Richendrfer, of Fallbrook, California; ten great grandchildren: Robert, Josh, Dyllan, Carter, Hailey, Lillith, Madisyn, Kylee, Parker and William, Jr. Also surviving is a sister, Isabell Moyer, of Mifflinburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Leo, Clark and Paul Shultz.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Delaware Run Cemetery, Watsontown. A Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM at McMichael's in Benton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Activity Dept., Bonham Nursing Center, 477 Bonnieville Road, Stillwater, PA 17878.
