Helen J. (Kille) Kropiewnicki, 90, of Benton Township, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Bonham Nursing Center.
Born January 26, 1931 in Lopez, Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Alva and Margaret A. (Casselberry) Kille. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Walter Z. "Whitey" Kropiewnicki, on December8, 2001.
Helen was a 1949 graduate of Benton High School and had worked as a manager for Talbot Industries. In her later years, she worked as a home health aide for many years and as a tax preparer for the elderly.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Benton.
Helen was also an active member of the Benton Senior Citizens Center, the Berks County Genealogical Society and the Columbia County Genealogical Society.
She was an avid Scrabble, card player and bowler. Other hobbies included gardening and antiquing. She had also competed in various local and state spelling bees.
Surviving are her three children: Charlene J. Moyer and her husband, Harold, of Wyalusing; Erik V. Logan, of Shickshinny; Rebecca S. Kile and her husband, Eric, of Stillwater; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley A. Kocher, of Benton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jack D. Kille on December 11, 2000 and Thomas C. Kille on January 23, 1983 and by her first husband, Roy Logan.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 17th, 2021 at 12 Noon at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton with Rev. Paul S. Moseley, Sr., her Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hamline Cemetery, Benton Township. A Viewing will be held Friday from 11 AM until the time of the Service at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Benton Senior Center, c/o NCCCC, P. O. Box 305, Benton, PA 17814.
