Henry J. Leonhard, 78, of Fishing Creek Township, died early Friday morning, January 14th, 2022 at his home following a brief illness.
Born June 24, 1943 in New York City, he was a son of the late Henry J. and Jeanette Leonhard. He and his wife, Mary E. (Carson) Leonhard, would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on July 4th.
Mr. Leonhard faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army from 1960 to 1963.
Following his discharge from the Army, he worked as a salesman for Murphy Environmental Company in New York and later purchased the business which he owned and operated for many years. He later was the director of purchasing for a large medical center in New York. He also owned and operated L&L Products, a fly fishing supply company for many years.
An avid fly fisherman, he was a member of a local fly fishing club. Along with fly fishing, his hobbies included photography, stamp collecting, building, gardening and cooking.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mary, are five children: Michele Mulieri and her husband, Tom; Michael Leonard; Donna Kraus and her husband, Andy; John Stockinger and his wife, Debbie, all of New York; Beth Burkhalter and her husband, Bryan, of Williamsburg, Virginia; eight grandchildren: Carson, Cooper, Chase, Crosby, Caitlyn, Mason, Rhyan and Grace.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Estelle (Conway) Leonhard; a brother, Frank Leonhard and by a sister, Irene Barrack.
