Obituary

Jack W. Zimmerman, 73, of Bethel Hill Road, Shickshinny (Huntington Township), died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, April 5th, 2022 at his home.

Born August 16, 1948 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Jack E. and Hilda (Warner) Zimmerman.  He and his wife, Lena L. (Post) Zimmerman, would have celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on May 1st.

Jack was a 1967 graduate of Northwest Area High School.  In his younger days, he was employed by Salem House, Berwick Forge and Fabricating and then was the general manager for Haulmark Industries.  He retired from the Department of Labor and Industry for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He was a very active member of his church, the Town Hill United Methodist Church where he served in numerous capacities ranging from mowing the lawn to making ice cream for the social events.  He was also a trustee for the Church and served on the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball.  He also shot archery competitively and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada.  He was also an accomplished wood worker and enjoyed doing crafts with his wife.  He very much enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his granddaughter's sporting events.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Lena, are his two daughters:  Annie Groff and her husband, Mike, of rural Shickshinny; Lori Zimmerman, of Berwick; his grandchildren:  Joey Groff, Allena Groff, Allyssa McNulty and Alexis Clinger.  Also surviving are his great grandsons:  Renzo McNulty, Aiden Clinger and Zander Clinger.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at 11 AM at the Town Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Tyler Rauhauser, officiating.  A fellowship luncheon will follow the service in the Church social hall.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Town Hill United Methodist Church (Trustee Account), 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny, PA 18655.
