Janice Ilene (Rood) Walton

On Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, Janice Ilene (Rood) Walton, 82, of Berwick, left this life to enter Eternity with her Lord, Jesus Christ and join relatives and friends who went before.

 Janice was born in Berwick on November 3, 1938 to the late William Rood and Janet (Thomas) Rood Cowsill.  Janice was raised by her grandparents, Vincent Rood and Helen (Collins) Rood.

 She married her high school sweetheart, David Walton, on November 23, 1955 and spent 61 years together until his death, January 6, 2017.  Janice graduated from Berwick High School with the Class of 1956.

Janice was an active member of the Berwick Assembly of God Church and while wintering in Florida, she also attended the First Assembly of God of Plant City. 

Surviving Janice are her four children Vicky L. Fish and her husband, Allan; Darla J. McMichael and her husband, Bruce; David W. Walton, Jr. and his wife, Nan; Gayle L. Gizenski and her husband, Joe; Also surviving are her nine grandchildren:  Monica Young and her husband, Shawn; Amanda Fish, Mitzi Spring, Sarah Fish, Travis Fish, Jacqueline Trombly and her husband, Brian; Wayne McMichael and his wife, Anna; Emily Trombly and her  husband, Michael.  Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren:  Brendan Young, Zachary Oteiza, Hanah Fish, Clara, Cadee and Caden Fish, Ava and Matilyn Spring, Logan and Chase Weikel and Rowan McMichael; one great great grandson, Carson Fish.  Surviving brothers include William Cowsill and his wife, Elaine; David Rood and his wife, Barbara; and James Cowsill; surviving sisters:  Pat White, Barbara Bell and her husband, Larry and sister-in-law, Linda Mundy.

 Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank N. Walton, on November 15, 2017; a grandson, John Weikel on September 11, 2019 and by four siblings:  Robert Rood, Nancy Drake, Shirley Canby and Joyce Cowsill. 

 Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 4th, 2021 at 11 A. M. at the Berwick Assembly of God Church, 801 East Fifth Street, Berwick, with the Rev. Scott Winter, her Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.  Friends and Relatives will be received   Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 at the Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton.  For online condolences or for additional information, please visit:  www.mcmichaelfuneral home.com
