JoAnn (Moyer) Lawton

JoAnn (Moyer) Lawton, 75, of Bloomsburg and formerly of Stillwater, died Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2023 at the Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater.

Born May 16, 1947 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Emmett M. Moyer, who died January 23, 1969 and Frances (Mekeel) Moyer, who died May 22, 2004.

JoAnn attended the former Stillwater School and then graduated from Benton  High  School in 1965.  She was last employed by the Neighborhood Advisors Insurance Company.   

She was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church in her younger years and currently a member of Bloomsburg Christian Church.  She was also a member of the Antique Truck Club.

She and her husband, Larry, enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.  Her hobbies included reading and knitting.

Surviving are her husband, Larry P. Lawton; two sons:  Jeffrey R. Lindner and his wife, Jacalyn, of Stillwater; Michael Lindner and his wife, Lisa, of Danville; eight grandchildren:  Kelsey, Cassidy, Brooke, Ashley, Aunide,  Marlyne, Aaron and Sarah and a great grandson, Nikolai. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bobby" Moyer  in 1955.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at 11 A. M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Scott Lyons, officiating.  Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery.  A Viewing will be held Saturday from 10  AM until the time of the Service at 11 at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Susan G.
