Joan Ann Rule, 86, of Shickshinny, died Thursday afternoon, July 22nd, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born at the Nanticoke Hospital, she was a daughter of the late James and Jennie Miller, of Mocanaqua, and was a graduate of Shickshinny High School in 1953.
Joan had several jobs, the last being an accounts payable clerk at Dura Bond, Inc.
Joan enjoyed cooking for her family and always made sure her entire family sat down at the dining room table to share a meal. Joan enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest in her younger years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Rule and her brother, Anthony Miller and many sisters-in-law and brother-in-law and nieces.
She is survived by her three children; sons, Joseph D. Jarosiewicz and James R. Jarosiewicz and daughter Susan Keefe and her husband, Michael. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Shannon Dietrich and a great grandson, Tyler Dietrich.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to make donations consider a no-kill animal shelter of your choice as Joan was an adopted mother to many stray cats.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton is honored to serve the Rule Family. For online condolences or for additional information, please visit our website: www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
