Joan E. (McGarvey) Schultz

Joan E. (McGarvey) Schultz, 81, of rural Orangeville (Orange Township), died Wednesday evening, June 14, 2023 at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital following a brief illness.

Born February 18, 1942 in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late
William and Dorothy (Hutton) McGarvey.  She and her beloved husband, Stephen G. Schultz, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on March 7th. 

Joan was a 1959 graduate of Central Columbia High School.  Joan assisted her husband with the operation of Schultz Electroplating in Bloomsburg for many years.  Most of all she enjoyed being a "Mom" and a homemaker and was known for her cooking and baking.

She was an active member of Stillwater Christian Church and a member of the Senior Saints at the Church.

She also enjoyed traveling, bird watching, gardening, tending to her flowers, hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, and sailing.  She was also an accomplished artist in her younger years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Steve, are two children:  Todd E. Schultz and his wife, Jill, of Bloomsburg; Rebecca L. Schultz, of Dallastown, PA; two grandchildren:  Natalie and Ian Schultz; two great grandchildren:  Jacen and Gavin Schultz and by a sister, Joyce McGarvey.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers:  Shirley Force, Alberta Serafin, Richard McGarvey and Robert McGarvey. 

Services will be held Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA  17878.
