Jody G. Travelpiece, 57, of Benton Township, died Friday, August 29, 2025 in Bradford County from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born June 9, 1968 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was a son of Jerry M. and Joyce (Beagle) Travelpiece, of Bloomsburg. He and his wife, Sharon R. (Hilkert) Travelpiece, would have celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on September 25th.
Jody was a 1988 graduate of Millville High School. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps and participated in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He also served in Southwest Asia and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
He was a truck driver during his entire working career and was currently employed by Knorr Trucking.
Jody was an active member of the Millville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where he was a worship leader and a member of the men's group.
He was also a member of the Marine Corps League, the Orangeville Sportsmen's Club and the Danville American Legion.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also an avid Steelers football fan.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, Jerry and Joyce (Beagle) Travelpiece, and his wife, Sharon R. (Hilkert) Travelpiece, are his two daughters: Crystal Long and Rebecca "Becky" Travelpiece; a granddaughter, Mary; a brother, Jerry Edward Travelpiece; three step children: Robert Richendrfer and his wife, Sarah; Shannon Bonham, and William Richendrfer and his wife, Melissa; 12 step-grandchildren: Robert, Josh, Dyllan, Carter, Hailey, Lillith, Madisyn, Kylee, Parker, William, Jr., Kiel and Nikki; and a step-great-granddaughter, Evelyn.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11 AM at the Millville Christian Church, 232 East Main Street, Millville with Pastor Mark Messner, officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery with full Military Honors. Friends and Relatives will be received Friday from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11 at the Church. The Family will provide flowers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Millville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), P. O. Box 130, Millville, PA 17846.
