John Phillips Obituary

John Christopher Phillips, Esquire, 70, formerly of Huntington Mills, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab., Danville.

Born October 4, 1950 in Washington, D. C., he was a son of the late George Edward Phillips, who died April 20, 2005 and Margaret Adelle (Olive) Phillips, who died June 11, 1987.

John was a graduate of Northwest Area High School, Kings College, Luzerne County Community College, Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL and Widener School of Law.

He was an Attorney in Huntington Mills and prior to that had worked as a computer programmer. 

John had been a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Luzerne County Bar Association and the Columbia Montour Bar Association. 

In addition to his parents, he was the last member of his immediate family being preceded in death by his[ three siblings:  George Edward Phillips, II on Dec. 12, 1990; Margaret Joy (Phillips) Jarosiewicz on Feb. 5, 2007; and Patricia Ann (Phillips) Neafie, on Jan. 31, 2020.

Surviving are his seven nieces and nephews. 

Private burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Huntington Township.    The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc. of Benton is honored to serve the Phillips family.
