Joseph Tapsak, 83, of Stillwater, died Friday morning, October 22, 2021 at the Gardens at Orangeville.
Born January 2, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN, he was a son of the late Peter Tapsak, Sr. and Anna (Semanko) Tapsak. He and his wife, Florence T. (Slovak) Tapsak, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 30th.
A 1956 graduate of Edison High School in N. E. Minneapolis, he also attended trade schools following his discharge from the U. S. Navy.
Mr. Tapsak faithfully served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. He was employed as a plumber and was the chief plumbing inspector for the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota for many years. He also taught welding at Dunwoody Institute, in Minneapolis for 28 years. He retired in 2002.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Benton.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Florence, are his son, Mark A. Tapsak and his wife, Karena, of Front Royal, Virginia; six grandchildren: Peter and his wife, Clare; Nathaniel, Stephen, Alexander, Benjamin and Theresa Tapsak and a great granddaughter, Olivia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Peter and John Tapsak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at 10 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 300 Mendenhall Lane, Benton, with Father Olusola Adewole, as Celebrant.
