Joseph R. Younkers, 81, a resident of rural Orangeville died November 13th, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Joseph was born June 3, 1940, in Franklin, New Jersey. He worked as a Certified Toolmaker at the Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey during the Vietnam War. Joseph retired from the County College of Morris from teaching Metallurgy and CNC machine work.
He lived his life to the fullest and was always busy doing something he loved. He was a hard worker on any project that he put his mind to. He was a spiritual man and a member of Lightstreet United Methodist Church.
Joseph was a life member of the Sparta and Bloomsburg Elks Lodges; Oriental Lodge #460, F. & A. M., of Orangeville.
An avid outdoorsman, his hobbies included fishing and gardening. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and by all that knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Linda J. (Bardo) Romberger Younkers, whom he married December 10, 2011; a son, Gary R. Younkers and his wife, Koidu, of Benton; three grandsons: Gary R. Younkers, Jr., and his wife, Cassandra; Eric Marquis Younkers and his wife, Rebecca; Russell Richard Younkers and his wife, Susan; three great grandchildren: Daniel, Nathaniel and Alex; a brother Steven Younkers and his wife, Karen, of Unityville. Also surviving are his two stepdaughters, four step grandchildren, and 10 step great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathaleen (Beardslee) Younkers on January 1, 2002; a son, Brian Younkers; two brothers: Richard and Roger Younkers and by a sister, Rosemary.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1 PM at the Lighthouse at the Lightstreet United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca Cuddeback, officiating. Masonic Services will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Lightstreet United Methodist Church, 1640 Main Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
