Joseph "Joe" Gizenski Obituary

Joseph Edward “Joe” Gizenski, 80, of Berwick, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Born in Hunlock Creek on October 10, 1945 to the late Joseph and Ida (Jumper) Gizenski.

After graduating from Northwest High School, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served our country from 1963-1967. After returning from the Air Force Joe primarily worked as a mechanic and a machinist at various local businesses including, Consolidated Cigar Plant, Data-Com, and most recently the Berwick Offray until his retirement. Joe loved going to car shows, visiting flea markets, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with family. Joe will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle (Walton) Gizenski; his daughters, Christina Bailey and her husband, Michael of NC and Mitzi Spring of Berwick; his adopted grandchildren, Logan and Chase Weikel; his granddaughters, Ava Spring, Matti Spring, and Máire Bailey ; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister, Joy Smith; his brother, Alfred Gizenski, Sr., and his son, John Weikel.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
