Joyce Meek Obituary

Joyce E. (Mulaney) Meek, 75, of Jerseytown (Madison Township), died early Sunday morning, April 17th, 2022 at her home.

Born March 9, 1947 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Elwin W. Mulaney, who died March 30, 2010 and Helen F. (Hess) Mulaney, who died May 19, 2000.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene C. "Gene" Meek, on January 31, 2022.

Joyce was a 1965 graduate of Millville High School and then attended the Thompson Institute in Harrisburg.

She had been employed by the Grit Newspaper in Williamsport and later by Sylvania in Montoursville. 

Joyce was a member  of the  Jerseytown United Methodist Church. 

Her hobbies included traveling, photography and camping, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her three children:  Cory L. Lohr, of Millville; Amy L. Meek and her husband, DeWitt Kavanagh, of Phoenix, Arizona; Patrick T. Meek and his wife, Becky, of Kissimmee, Florida; four grandchildren:  Joylee, Bryce, and Blain Lohr and Zoey Meek; five great grandchildren:  Aurora, Stephen, Kourtney, Kaden and Brennan; a brother, Kenneth Mulaney and his wife, Janet, of Talmar and a sister, Sandra Smith, of Tucson, Arizona.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the Family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
