Kenneth H. “Ken” Bloom, 85, of Orangeville, PA passed away on February 5, 2025 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Ken was born on October 20, 1939 in Bloomsburg, PA, son of the late Henry & Elizabeth (Danowsky) Bloom.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gail (Schechterly) Bloom, with whom he shared 48 years of loving marriage; his son, Michael Bloom; his daughter, Jenna Bloom; and his cousin, June Johnson who was like a sister to him.
Ken attended Sugarloaf Schoolhouse in Benton until its closing and graduated from Benton High School, Class of 1957. Shortly thereafter he served in the United States Army for several years as a mechanic. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his career but always utilized the engine repair skills he learned in the Army. He loved fixing and working on small engines, particularly chainsaws. Ken was an animal lover including dogs and horses, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved being in the outdoors.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM at the McMichael Funeral Home in Benton, PA where the family will receive friends and loved ones.
