Klaus Gerhardt, 71, of Benton, passed on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at his home.
Born October 8, 1952 in Epe, Germany, he was a son of the late John G. and Angela (Hoff) Gerhardt. He and his wife, Ruth Ann (Nafus) Gerhardt, would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on April 5th.
Klaus was a graduate of Deer Park High School in Long Island, New York. He and his father operated Kinow Contracting Company in New York, a roofing and waterproofing company, from which he retired from in 2013.
An avid reader, he enjoyed reading Stephen King books, playing games, especially, croquet and chess; traveling and hiking state parks.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Ruth, are his children: Jennifer Rogers and her husband, Ian Dean, of Benton; Jason Gerhardt and his wife, Lauren, of Benton; Tiffany Gerhardt of Benton; and Alyce Gerhardt, of Philadelphia. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and a sister, Lena Monitto, of California.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Turin Gerhardt, on February 2, 2009.
Private Services will be held at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton, at the convenience of the family with Pastor Ken Lewis, Benton Christian Church, officiating.
