Larry Yost Obituary

Larry E. Yost, 77, of Fishing Creek Township, died early Thursday morning, October 16, 2025 with his wife by his side.   

Born  September 23, 1948 in Benton, he was a son of the late Walter and Alice (Fritz) Yost.

Larry was a 1967 graduate of Benton  High School and then faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army. 

He worked in construction and as a truck driver during his working career.

Larry was a member of the Derrs Christian Church.  He was also a member of Oriental Lodge, #460, F.  & A.M.,  of Orangeville and the Shickshinny American Legion. 

His hobbies included NASCAR, hunting and putting models together. 

Surviving are his wife, Nancy J. (Harbst) Yost, whom he married on September 23, 1988; two sons:  Kevin E. Yost and his wife, Pamela and their son, Emmitt, of Orangeville; Michael D. Yost and his wife, Erin, of Shickshinny; step children:  Doreen Barnhill, Orangeville; Dale May and his wife, Donna, of North Carolina; Monica Campbell, of Rome; Donald May, of Berwick; John May and his wife, Karen, of Ulster; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren. 

Also surviving are his siblings:  Joyce Partington, of Muhlenberg; Gloria Kocher, of Millville; Jerry Yost and his wife, Rena, of Monroeton; Kathy Bender and her husband, Roger, of Stillwater; Kenneth Yost, of Stillwater; Theresa Burger, of Muncy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by  a brother, Dennis Yost and by a step son, Jammie May. 

Funeral  Services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025  at 11 A. M. at the McMichael Funeral  Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Robert K. Andrews, officiating.  Burial will be in the Jonestown Cemetery with full military honors.  A Viewing will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's.  Oriental Lodge will conduct Masonic Services Wednesday at 5 PM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD  21741.
