Lois McMichael Obituary

Lois E. (Morgan) McMichael, 89, of Benton and formerly of Stillwater Boro.  went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, October16th, 2022 at Glen Brook Nursing Home in Berwick. 

Born March 4, 1933 in Waller, Jackson Township, she was a daughter of the late Russell Morgan, Sr., who died December 31, 1997 and V. Lorraine (Griffith) Morgan, who died September 28, 1984.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Wayne Bruce McMichael, Sr., on  August 27th, 2020.

Lois attended the former Waller School and then went to Benton High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1951. In her early years, she was employed by the former Dockey Shirt Factory in Benton and later for Dol Ang Manufacturing in Benton which later known as Crystal Fashions, from where she retired.  Following her retirement she served as the organist/pianist for McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton, for more than 20 years.

 She was a long-time, faithful and dedicated member of Stillwater Christian Church where she served in numerous capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Daily Vacation Bible School Teacher, a Deaconess, the Kitchen committee as well as other various committees.  She was best known for serving as the church organist/pianist for more than 50 years.

Lois also served on the Stillwater Boro Board of Elections and was Secretary/Treasurer for the Stillwater Cemetery Association for many years. 

She especially cherished spending time with her family and attending family events, picnics and holiday get-togethers.

Surviving, are her three children:  Wayne Bruce McMichael, Jr. and his wife, Darla; Mary J. Schmeck and her husband, Eric; Joy A. Zeitler and her husband, David, Sr.; eight grandchildren:  David Zeitler, Jr. and his wife, Gena; Nichole Tucker and her husband, Adam; Kellie J.  Miller; Jacqueline S. Trombly and her husband, Brian; Wayne Bruce McMichael, III and his wife, Anna; Emily M. Trombly and her husband, Michael; Logan J. Zeitler and Olivia Zeitler; ten great grandchildren:  Anthony, Brody, Colby, Zachary, Irelyn, Halee, Oliver, Declan, Rowan and Thomas; three step grandchildren:  Joshua Schmeck, Ryan Schmeck and his fiancée, Dr. Michaela Wagner and Kayla Schmeck; a sister, Carol J. Dildine and her husband, James T., a sister-in-law, Esther K. Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents and husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by  a sister, Marilyn C. Henry on April 5, 2001; two brothers: Russell E. Morgan, Jr., on December 8, 1999 and David Kenneth Morgan on April 26, 1944;  and a son-in-law, David A. Miller on June 10, 2016.

 Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 20th, 2022 at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church with Pastors Jason Simpkins, Scott Lyons,  Jeff Farley, and Mike Delp, officiating.  Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery.   Viewing will be held Thursday morning from 9 AM until the time of the Service at 11 AM at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Building Fund of the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA 17878.  For online condolences or additional information, please visit our website:  www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
