Lorrie L. (Beaver) Bartkiewicz, of rural Benton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at her home.
She was born November 11, 1955, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Elva (Ruckle) Beaver. She grew up in Shickshinny and graduated from Northwest Area High School in 1973.
Lorrie married her high school sweetheart, David and they celebrated 49 years of marriage on August 17th.
She worked most of her life in the garment industry, ILGWU. She then went on to owning her own cleaning business until poor health forced her retirement.
Lorrie loved her days at the beach with the girls; NASCAR parties in the garage with friends and going to the Pocono Race every year. She was always up for a good game of pitch. She loved gardening and enjoyed her many flower beds.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shickshinny. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 495 in Shickshinny; a life member of the Benton V. F. W. Auxiliary Post 8317 and the ILGWU.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, David, are her son, Daniel, of Benton; granddaughter, Payton Hartman, of Benton; Sisters, Sherrida Kleintob and Brenda Nelson; a brother, Brett Beaver and his wife, Sue; numerous nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Paula Mitchell.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael F. Bartkiewicz on August 23, 2020.
