Margaret J. "Peg" (Hollinger) Evans, 65, of Paxinos and formerly of the Benton area, died Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 8, 1956 in Chester, Delaware County, she was a daughter of the late Marion L. Hollinger. She was raised on the family farm in Fishing Creek Township by her beloved grandparents, the late Henry G. and Margaret Hollinger.
She attended Benton High School and had been employed by Giant Markets in Danville where she worked in the bakery, deli and floral departments. She had just recently semi-retired.
Peg was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Surviving are her husband and soul-mate, John I. Evans, whom she married June 8, 2007; her four children: Jennifer Mills, Bloomsburg; Jessica Gardner and her husband, Christopher, Sunbury; Stephanie Letteer and her husband, Matt, of Danville; Steven C. Gregory and his wife, Stefany, of Coal Township; eight grandchildren: Ashley, Brandi, Cassidy, Brady, Chelsea, Samantha, Alexzander and Makayla; seven great grandchildren: Anastasia, Elijah, Heavenly, Thomas, Sameal Jr., Bayleigh and Brynleigh; and two nephews: Reed and Zachary Hollinger.
Preceding her in death along with her mother, are her brother, Russell B. Hollinger; her grandparents: Henry G. and Margaret Hollinger; and two special cousins: Tammy Jean and Henry "Butch" Hollinger, III.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487). Pastor Jason Simpkins of Stillwater Christian Church will officiate. A Viewing will be held Saturday morning from 10 AM until the time of the Service at McMichael's. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Sugarloaf Township.
