Marilyn A. (Moss) Seward

Marilyn A. (Moss) Seward, 86, of Fairmount Township, died Saturday evening, August 12th, 2023 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.  

Born November 27, 1936 in Benton Township, she was a daughter of the late Rollie and Grace (Gallup) Moss.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Marvin R. Seward, on October 25, 2022.

Marilyn was a graduate of Benton High School and had been employed by various local dress factories.  In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at Kozy Korner in Benton.

Her hobbies included sewing, genealogy/family history, cooking, baking and gardening. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. 

Surviving are her three sons:  Mark R. Seward and his wife, Peggy, of Benton; Matt R. Seward and his wife, Kathy, of Benton; Michael R. Seward 
and his fiancée, Kristle Baker, of Berwick; four grandchildren:  Ashley, Elizabeth, River and John; three great grandchildren:  Rhenley, Rhylee and Adahleigh as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was the last member of her immediate family being preceded in death by eight siblings:  Jean Sellers Derr, Elsie Mahoney, Betty Fritz, Richard Moss, David Moss, Ralph Moss, Robert Moss and Harold Moss.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10 AM  at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with the Rev. Paul S. Moseley, Sr., Bible Baptist Church of Benton, officiating.  Burial will be in the Raven  Creek Cemetery.  A Viewing will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's.
