Mark D. Montanye

Mark D. Montanye, 64, of rural Stillwater, (Fishing Creek Township), passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born August 7, 1960 in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Thomas and Iva (Everett) Montanye.  

Mark attended Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey. 

He had been employed by Giant Markets in Bloomsburg for 20 years.

Mark’s hobbies included hunting and playing golf.

Surviving are his wife, Joann D. (Quent) Montanye; three children:  Shannon K. Montanye, of Stillwater; Michael A. Monroe, of Benton; Jason D. Hartzell and his wife, Traci, of McAdoo; three grandchildren:  Darren Holloway, Bethany A. Monroe and Michael F. Monroe as well as numerous brother and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 at 3 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton, with Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 PM until the time of the service at 3 PM at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
