Martha R. (Hopkins) DiSipio, 84, formerly of the Benton area, died Thursday morning, January 28th, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 6, 1936 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Rose Agnes (Conners) Hopkins.
Martha attended the Nether Providence High School in Wallingford, PA.
While living in the Benton area, she was an active member of the Stillwater Christian Church where she was a Deaconess, a member of the Brush Arbor Choir and assisted with clerical duties of the church.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and making afghans but mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved traveling to Florida to visit with her son and her extended family and friends.
Surviving are her five children: Joseph Grove, Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Catawissa; Sharon Hallman and her husband, Kenneth, of Pennsburg; Robert Santore and his wife, Cindy, of Shamokin; Lawrence DiSipio, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Lakeland, FL; Anthony DiSipio and his wife, Jennifer, of Bethlehem. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as her best buddy, her loving dog, Patrick.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Joan Hopkins; a granddaughter, Trichelle Grove and by a great grandson, Jayden Karaffa.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at 11 A.M. at the Waller Cemetery, Jackson Township with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating.
