Marvin R. Seward, 88, of Fairmount Township, died Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born October 25th, 1934 in Fairmount Township, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Ethel (Boston) Seward. He and his wife, Marilyn Alice (Moss) Seward, would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on November 30th.
Marvin was a graduate of Huntington Mills High School and had been employed by Penn-DOT for 30 years as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of the American Legion and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and as an elected constable. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods by a campfire.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marilyn, are his three sons: Mark R. Seward and his wife, Peggy, of Benton; Matt R. Seward and his wife, Kathy, of Benton; Michael R. Seward of Berwick; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Russell Seward, of Benton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Williams and a brother, Robert "Bob" Seward.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 31st, 2022 at 10 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with the Rev. Paul S. Moseley, Sr., Bible Baptist Church of Benton, officiating. Burial will be in the Raven Creek Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's.
