Mary Jo (Eifert) Kinney Romig

Mary Jo (Eifert) Kinney Romig, 70, of Benton, died Saturday, December 26th, 2020 at her home.  She had been in ill health since March.

Born February 16, 1950 in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur John Eifert and Nora Kathleen (Leiby) Eifert.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands:  James Ross Kinney on May 1, 1995 and David L. Romig on Feb. 16, 2004.

Mary Jo attended Bloomsburg High School and had worked as a nurse's aide at Bloomsburg Health Care Center for ten years.  She also served as a volunteer for the Bloomsburg Women's Center. 

An avid reader, she enjoyed doing Bible Studies and spending time on her back porch with her dogs.  She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Everyone that met her loved her and appreciated her faith and her love for people.

She will be greatly missed by her only daughter, Brenda K. Kinney and her companion, Allen Hunsinger; two grandchildren: Anthony J. Kinney and his girlfriend, Kari Williams; Cheyenne S. Kinney and her fiancé, Matthew Baez; three sisters:  Ethel Strausser, of Bloomsburg; Gloria Kester and her husband, Ted, of Lime Ridge and Kay Weaver, of Danville.

Along with her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters:  Joan Shymanski and Fay Young; a half-sister, Erma Snyder; two half brothers:  John Eifert and Alvin Lindenmuth and by a baby brother in infancy.
