Mary E. (Hildebrand) Travelpiece, 80, of Benton, died early Tuesday morning, July 12th, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after suffering a severe brain bleed.
Born July 15, 1941 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Margaret (Shepperly) Hildebrand.
Mary was a 1959 graduate of West Hazleton High School. She was employed as a receptionist for Dr. Kowalski in Benton from 1981 until the time of her death.
She was an active member of Benton Christian Church, the Benton Senior Center and the Order of Eastern Star.
Mary enjoyed square dancing in her younger years. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing and watching horseracing. She especially enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center and playing pinochle.
Surviving are her three children: Mark E. Travelpiece, of Benton; Cindy S. McHenry, of Benton; Robyn Lynn Hack and her husband, Dean, of Huntington Mills; two grandchildren: Alyssa Kramer and Peyten Hack; a brother, Robert C. Hildebrand, of Sybertsville and two nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anastasia Lynn Matthews on April 17, 1998; a brother, Barry, who died in infancy, and by a niece, Wendy Hildebrand Thomas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at 11 AM at the Benton Christian Church, Third and Church Streets, Benton, with the Rev. Dr. David A. Mansfield, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11 AM on the 23rd of July. Private burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Benton Christian Church, P. O. Box 264, Benton, PA 17814.
