Melva M. Rawls, Sr., 85, of Scott Township, and formerly of Benton, died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born November 13, 1935 in Aulander, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Vera (Myers) Rawls.
He was a graduate of Aulander High School in Aulander, NC. He faithfully served his country for 21 years in the U. S. Air Force and was a proud Vietnam War Veteran. He later worked for Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for 18 years as a courier, retiring in 2002.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Rawls, his children: Melva M. Rawls, Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Bassett, VA; Sandra K. Kelsey and her husband, Jeffrey, of Benton; Cheryl E. Hartman and her husband, Stuart, of Oley, PA; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Services with Military Honors will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 12 Noon at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487). A Visitation will be held Sunday, August 22nd, from 11 AM until the time of the Service at McMichael's. Private burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Central PA Food Bank (For Veterans), 3301 Wahoo Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
