Melvin M. Kline

Melvin M. Kline, 90, of Stillwater passed away peacefully Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Gardens at Millville.

Born in Jonestown April 12, 1930, he was a son to the late Millard H. and Edna R. (Snyder) Kline.  Melvin and his wife, Betty Jean, celebrated 39 years of marriage on September 12.          

He was a graduate of Benton High School, Class of 1948.  Melvin was a lifelong farmer who was also employed by Kawneer for 23 years, retiring in 1993.

Melvin was a lifetime member of Jonestown United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, New Columbus, the Columbia- Montour Barbershoppers, and the Susque County Square Dancers.  Additionally, he was a 70 year member of the Laurel Ridge Hunting Club.

Mel enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.  He was also an avid reader.

Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, Betty Jean, are his children:  James L. Kline and wife, Tami, of Jonestown; Sharon Zieverink and husband, Steve, of TX; Connie J. Fritz and husband, John, of Millville, and David K. Keck and companion, Carol Corey, of Berwick; grandchildren: Rebecca, Sarah, Jared, and Andrew; great-grandchildren:  Emily, Tori, Zane, and Lydia; brother:  William Franklin Kline of Bloomsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Shaffer Kline; sister:  Elsie Remphrey; and brother:  Clifford J. Kline.

Melvin's services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  His interment will be at Dodson Cemetery.  George H.
