Michael G. Bardi, 86, of Fishing Creek Township, died Saturday morning, March 2, 2024 at his home.
Born February 8, 1938 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Angelo M. Bardi, who died March 14, 1974 and Frances M. (Tafaro) Bardi, who died December 13, 2006. He and his wife, Joan (Danielson) Bardi, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 15th.
Mr. Bardi was a graduate of Montclair High School in New Jersey.
He faithfully served in the New Jersey Army National Guard for six years. He was employed as a policeman in Bloomfield, New Jersey from 1962 until 1992 when he retired.
Mr. Bardi was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was a life member of the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association, where he had served as the financial secretary for many years.
His hobbies included woodworking and making colonial furniture, horses and traveling.
Along with his wife, Joan, he is survived by three children: Michael Daniel Bardi and his wife, Anna, of Conway, SC; Christina Joan Bardi, of Milltown, NJ; Cynthia Ann Mordan and her husband, Earl, "Skip", of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Michael Anthony Bardi and his wife, Danielle; Joseph Gregory Bardi and his fiancée, Katarina and her daughter, Lotti; and Joshua David Mordan; one great granddaughter, Eleanor Bardi; a sister, Frances Traynor and her husband, Philip, of Calhoun, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 at 11 A. M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Father Andrew St. Hilaire, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's.
