Michael F. Bartkiewicz, 37, of Benton, passed away on Sunday morning, August 23, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where he had been a patient since August 17th.
Michael was born on May 18, 1983, a son of David and Lorrie (Beaver) Bartkiewicz, of Benton.
He graduated from Northwest Area High School in 2001.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Shickshinny. He was also a member of the United Sportsman Camp 271, Huntington Mills.
Michael was a former employee of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers, Local 38, Wilkes-Barre, where he was better known as "Butters".
He enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to hunt and garden with his dad and loved helping his mom with her flower gardens. He also enjoyed attending the Pocono NASCAR races. He and his brother were inseparable. His beautiful smile and laughter will echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be missed.
He is survived by his mother and father, David and Lorrie; brother, Daniel, a niece, Payton, all of Benton. Also surviving are his longtime girlfriend, Kate Taylor and his best buddy, Dunny as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Jean Bartkiewicz and Wilbur and Elva Beaver.
There will be no services at this time due to the corona virus. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 19th at his home with more details to follow.
