Nancy A. (Babb) Caldwell

Nancy A. (Babb) Caldwell, 81, of Stillwater, died Wednesday morning, April 17, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born December 1, 1937 in Bloomsburg she was a daughter of the late Elinor J. (Chapin) Hagenbuch, who died December 26, 2005.    She and her husband, Ronald L. Caldwell, would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on June 23rd. 

Nancy attended the former Stillwater School and later Benton High School where she graduated in 1955.

She deeply loved her church and was an active member of Stillwater Christian Church where she had served as a Deaconess, assisted with the clothing-give-away program, served on the fellowship committee and had sung in the choir years ago.

Nancy had also served on the Stillwater Boro Election Board for many years. She was also admired and loved by the staff of Geisinger Outpatient Dialysis Clinic, Danville, where she underwent dialysis treatment for almost 21 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her four children:  R. Mark Caldwell, of North Canton, Ohio; Stephen L. Caldwell and his wife, Sabine, of Bird-in-Hand, PA; Scott F. Caldwell and his wife, Kerri, of Wintersville, Ohio and Melinda J. "Mimi" Caldwell, of Stillwater; one grandson, Mark Alexander Caldwell, of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mickey A. Vickers, of Orangeville and a Niece, Constance Vickers, of Connecticut.

Along with her mother, Elinor, she was preceded in death by her step father, Franklin O. Hagenbuch on April 12, 1999.

She was deeply loved by many in her church and community for her gratitude and courageousness and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 6 P. M. at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, with Pastor Scott Lyons, Pastor Jason Simpkins and Pastor Jeff Farley, officiating.  Burial will be on Tuesday in the Stillwater Cemetery.  A Viewing will be held Monday from 4 PM until the time of the service at 6:00 at the Church.  A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the funeral service Monday evening at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Stillwater, Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA 17878 or to the WPGM Radio Station, P.
