Pastor Stephen Luscian Obituary

Pastor Stephen J. Luscian, Jr., 84, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Thursday evening, March 25th, 2021 at his home.

Born April 23, 1936 in Englewood, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Stephen J. Luscian, Sr. and Reita (Davis) Luscian.  He and his wife, Joan L. (Stewart) Luscian, would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on July 20th.

Pastor Luscian was a graduate of Bucknell University and later earned his Masters of Divinity degree from the Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale. 

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army from November 1958 to May 1961.  

He was executive Vice President of Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia prior to going into the ministry.  He pastored several Churches, most recently, his home Church, Open Door Christian Fellowship in Buckhorn, retiring in 2005.

He purposed in his heart to live his life in pursuit of knowing and bringing glory to his Lord and Savior, service to God and others united all of endeavors.  Whether through cherished time with family, ministry, cooking for others, trips to Carolina Beach, NC, or prayer and study of Scripture, the love of God emanated from him in his love for others.  He will be remembered for his heartfelt smile and loving embrace.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Joan, are his four children:  Stephen J. Luscian, III and his wife, Joyce; Barbara J. Warunek and her husband, Joseph; Wendy Fetterman and her husband, John; Christian Luscian and his wife, Joann; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson and a sister, Jacqueline Nufer.   

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at 1 PM at the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street, Almedia, with Pastor Peter Albrecht, officiating. Friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 PM at Shiloh Bible Church.  The family requests that those attending observe appropriate social distancing and mask guidelines.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Open Door Christian Fellowship, 291 Mall Boulevard, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.  The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc. of Benton, is honored to serve the Luscian Family. For online condolences or for additional information, please visit our website:   www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
