Phillip Lamoreaux Obituary

Philip T. Lamoreaux, 65, of rural Orangeville (Fishing Creek Township) died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his home.

Born November 21,1956 at the Berwick Hospital, he was a son of the late Glenn L. and Shirley M. (Sterling) Lamoreaux.  He and his wife, Barbara A. (Yacko) Lamoreaux, celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on June 1st.

Philip was a 1974 graduate of Benton High School and attended East Stroudsburg State College.  He was employed by Catawissa Lumber for 35 years and later for United States Gypsum in Washingtonville for 12 years, retiring in 2019.

He was a longtime and active  member of the former Asbury United Methodist Church.  

Philip was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports.  He especially enjoyed football and baseball and was a Yankees, Seahawks, Cardinals and Cowboys fan.  

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Barbara, are his two sons:  Travis A. Lamoreaux, of Millville and Bret E. Lamoreaux, at home; a sister, Nadine C. Steward and her husband, Ron of rural Orangeville; a brother, Kevin D. Lamoreaux and his wife, Holly, of Stillwater; and an adopted sister, Mya Grace Lamoreaux, of rural Orangeville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters:  Janell E. Karas on July 2, 2011 and Lisa Remley on July 8, 2008.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487).  A Visitation  will be held Saturday, January 15th from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM at McMichael's.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Avenue, Williamsport, PA 17701.  The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton,  is honored to serve the Lamoreaux family.  For online condolences or for additional information, please visit our website:  www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
