Ralph S. Good, 94, of rural Orangeville, Fishing Creek Township, died Friday, November 5th, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 25, 1927, in Fishing Creek Township, he was a son of the late J. Bruce and Anna (Herring) Good. He and his wife, Shirley M. (Hontz) Good, celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on October 16th.
Ralph attended the Jonestown School and then graduated from Benton High School. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal.
He had worked as a carpet weaver for Magee Carpet Company in Bloomsburg for 27 years and then was employed by Bloomsburg Carpet until his retirement.
Ralph was an active member of the Jonestown United Methodist Church where he served in numerous capacities including Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Shirley, are his three sons: Randy L. Good, of Orangeville; David L. Good, of Stillwater and Brian K. Good and wife, Karen, of Benton; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Clifford Good, of Illinois and a sister, Rosemary Martin, of Texas. He also had 14 step siblings.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Gary R. Good on April 12, 2019; a daughter, Margaret A. "Peggy" Homiak on December 19, 2013 and by the following siblings: Dorothy Umfer, Herbert Good, Dean Good and Jacqueline Hamrick.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Todd Davis, officiating. Burial will be in the Jonestown Cemetery with Military Honors. There will be a Visitation from 10 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
