Raymond Anthony "Butch" Hurley, 83, of Sugarloaf Township, died early Tuesday morning, May 3rd, 2022 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born January 25, 1939 in the Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Raymond Joseph Hurley and Ellen (Deegan) Hurley. He and his wife, Mary R. (Russo) Hurley, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on February 9th.
Mr. Hurley was a maintenance mechanic by trade and had been employed by TriAngle Cable, Johnson and Johnson and United Stationers, all of New Jersey. He retired in 1992 and following his retirement, moved to the Village of Central.
He served his country in the U. S. Navy. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mary, are his four children: Patricia Olcsvay and her husband, Joseph, of Central; Joanne Raspa, of Cherry Hill, NJ; Kathleen Dirato, of East Stroudsburg; Raymond Joseph Hurley of Brick Township, NJ; eight grandchildren: Alicia, Joseph, Sabrina, Samantha, Joseph, David, Kasey and Connor; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Rayna Buranich, of Piscataway, NJ.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nine siblings.
