Raymond F. "Raymie" Kitchen, Jr., 71, of Fishing Creek Township, died Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born July 19, 1951 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was a son of the late Raymond F. Kitchen, Sr., who died December 9, 2004 and Marqueen M. (Hess) Kitchen, who died October 27, 2006. He and his wife, Gail Y. (Hayman) Kitchen, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on June 22nd.
He was a 1970 graduate of Benton High School and had been employed by HRI as a truck driver, retiring in 2018. Prior to that he worked in construction.
Raymond was a member of the United Methodist Church and had a strong Christian faith. He was also a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting but especially enjoyed spending time with the family and attending their sporting events and activities. He was also a 4-H Leader years ago.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Gail, are his two children: Ryan L. Kitchen and his wife, Sarah, of New Columbia; Kelly R. Sneidman and her husband, Matthew, of Orangeville; four grandchildren: Lane and Abbey Kitchen; Raelyn and Madalyn Sneidman.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother: Gloria A. Yaple, Roberta E. Buck and Randy G. Kitchen.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 19th, 2022 at 1 P. M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton, with the Rev. Darwin C. Goshorn, retired Minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Dodson Cemetery, Southdale. Friends and Relatives will be received Monday from 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1525 Valley Center Parkway #180, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
