Richard Daniel Hoag, 67, of Stillwater, died early Friday morning, December 6, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.
Born March 12, 1952 in Washington, D. C. he was a son of the late Richard Daniel Hoag, Sr. and Anne Hoag. He and his wife, Jessica (Nazareno) Hoag, would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on December 14th.
Mr. Hoag was a 1971 graduate of Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Maryland. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1972 to 1974 attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He worked at Zeisloft Ford in Berwick for many years as the parts manager. He had also worked for Berwick Offray and Domino's Pizza.
Mr. Hoag was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. An avid sports fan, he was a big fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Jessica, are his four children: Angela M. Arnold, of Berwick; Sharron D. Walker and her husband, Jerry, of Lake Silkworth; Chelsea Tenchavez, of Stillwater and A. J. Hoag, of Stillwater. Also surviving are six grandchildren; two brothers: David Hoag, of South Carolina; Allen Hoag, of Massachusetts; two step brothers: James and Glen Cox, both of South Carolina.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip T. Hoag, on May 5, 1996.
Services will be held Thursday, December 12th, 2019 at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, officiating. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton. He was always funny around people making jokes…always made us laugh. He also loved his food, especially hoagies and turkey.
