Robert "Bob" Barchik, 80, of Huntington Mills, died Thursday morning, December 12, 2019 at his home. He inspired many people to reach their educational goals.
Born October 15, 1939 in Huntington Township, he was a son of the late Frank Barchik, Sr. and Mary (Falkowski) Barchik. He and his wife, Martha L. (Zubris) Barchik, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 3rd.
Mr. Barchik was a 1958 graduate of Northwest Area High School. He was a member of FFA. He was a dairy farmer and owned and operated Robert Barchik Farms. Years ago, he also owned and operated the Cambra Store Company for 17 years.
He was a member of the Benton Sportsman's Club and the Dairy Farmers of America.
He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the UConn Huskies and the New York Yankees.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Martha, are his three children: Brian O. Barchik, Huntington Mills; Sean P. Barchik, of Cambra; Kelly M. DeFinnis and her husband, Sam, of Cambra; three grandchildren: Gabrielle Barchik, Elizabeth Barchik and Samuel DeFinnis, II. Also surviving are his brother, Raymond Barchik and his wife, Corrine, of Benton; a sister, Joan Zumpano and her husband, Vincent as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: Frank A. Barchik, Stanley C. Barchik, Edward W. Barchik and Bernadine Pierontoni.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at 4 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. Private entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. A Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM at McMichael's.
