Robert D. "Bob" Kindig, 94, of Benton Township, died Sunday, September 4th, 2022 at Emmanuel Center, Danville.
Born May 21, 1928 in Stillwater, he was a son of the late John H. and Mildred (Hayman) Kindig. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Stella L. (Maziarczyk) Kindig, on September 20, 2006.
Bob was a 1946 graduate of Benton High School. He had been employed by Magee Carpet Company in Bloomsburg for 20 years as a carpet weaver and then worked for PP&L for 24 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church. He was also a member of Oriental Lodge, No. 460, F. & A. M., of Orangeville; the Benton Lions Club, the Benton Card Club for over 50 years and a lifelong and founding member of the Bee Cellar Hunting Club in Stillwater.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his daughter: Joan Kindig-Bennett and her husband, John, of Quakertown, PA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Shirley McHenry and her husband, Teddy, of Benton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Stella, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robin John Kindig on March 13, 2013; daughter, Monica S. Mathews on January 4, 2020 and by the following siblings: Kenneth H. Kindig, Roy C. Kindig, Richard D. Kindig, Vivian Karns, Gerald Kindig and Dorothy Kindig.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
