Robert Miller Obituary

Robert J. "Bob" Miller, 92, of rural Shickshinny (Union Township), died Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2024 at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Born August 31, 1931 in Black Creek Township, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Junior E. and Inez (Stout) Miller.  He and his wife, Alice J. (Wandell) Miller, celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on June 14th.

Mr. Miller had been employed by Bethlehem Steel Company, farmed, and had worked for Wise Potato Chip Company in Berwick for 30 years.  Following his retirement, he was employed by Cragle Bus Service for 14 years.

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War 
as a Sergeant in the Infantry. 

Mr. Miller was a member of the Reyburn Bible Church; the Shickshinny American Legion and was a member of the former McKendree Grange.

He enjoyed working, mowing grass, gardening, hunting, and occasionally fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Alice, are his two children: Robert E. Miller, and Connie J. Kittle and her husband, Keith, all of Shickshinny;
five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Miller.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his four sisters:  Carol Ann Shaw; Iris Hontz; Lillian Woodworth and Lorraine Rorick.  

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 10 AM at Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn with  Pastor Rob Obuhosky, his Pastor,  officiating.
