Robert F. "Butch" Rhone, 86, of Jonestown (Fishing Creek Township), died Sunday, August 4, 2024 at his home.
Born May 20, 1938 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was a son of the late Frease and Helen (Betterly) Rhone. He and his wife, Juanita G. (Zimmerman) celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 15th.
Mr. Rhone attended schools in Huntington Mills and spent his working career in the construction field. He was last employed by LeRoy Knouse, retiring in 1990.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War era.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time doing wood work in his wood shop. He especially cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Juanita, are a son, Michael F. Rhone and his wife, Suncha, of Benton; three grandchildren: Mike, Cole and Heidi; three great grandchildren: Chance, Lena and Logan, and his daughter-in-law, Tammy D. Rhone.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Frank T. Rhone on May 23, 2019. He was the last member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by six siblings: Jim, Henry, Blanche, Betty, Mary and a brother that died in infancy.
